Meditation and Inner Freedom with Gelong Thubten
With Thubten
February 6 - 8, 2026
Join us for a transformative retreat with renowned Buddhist Monk, Gelong Thubten
This retreat offers a unique opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s most influential teachers of meditation and mindfulness, with a 3-day deep-dive into Tibetan Buddhist practices and philosophy. The retreat is open to people from all backgrounds and beliefs.
What to expect
We will focus on an 11th Century Tibetan text called The Four Dharmas of Gampopa, which contains powerful instructions for transforming our meditation practice into a journey to inner freedom and liberation.
Led by Gelong Thubten, this retreat is an invitation to deepen your relationship with meditation, refining what you already practice. While rooted in familiar foundations, the teachings will introduce fresh methods drawn from the Tibetan tradition, offering new perspectives and tools for inner transformation. Through a skillful blend of teaching and silent practice, we’ll explore how ancient wisdom can illuminate our modern lives.
The main themes will be:
– How to deepen our commitment to daily meditation practice
– The cultivation of compassion
– Training in profound wisdom, using visualisation techniques from the Buddhist teachings on Tantra.
Is this something for you?
Have you already established a regular meditation practice and feel called to go deeper? Are you longing to connect more fully with the transformative potential of meditation beyond stress relief? Are you ready to engage with ancient teachings in a practical way that supports personal transformation and benefits others?
This retreat is for people who have done a retreat before, or have been meditating regularly. The teachings provide a grounding in some of the most essential points of Buddhist philosophy and practice, but are suitable for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
The retreat will be a combination of teaching, practice and time for reflection, with helpful instructions for maintaining a strong, daily meditation practice, the transformation of negative emotions and how to become of true benefit to others.
